Handmade journal – Tamara Morton

Hi Mama Makes Fans, this is my first make as a design team member.  I have to say there isn’t a stamp or sentiment that I don’t like. There are all beautiful and fit so many different occasions.  For my sample I have made up one the Eileen Hulls journals, this is just the right size for a Mama Makes Stamps.

Starting with the front I have used one of the stamps from the “Hello Adventure” Set.  Love the use of the heart instead of an O.

As we open the book I have left the underside of the front cover plain.  I will be adding a tag to it at some stage as the boarder is only glued down slightly so there is a lip for putting extra embellishments in.

I love hearts so have used them a great deal in this book and decided to but the sentiment on some parchment and anchor it with a rose gold paper clip.  This sentiment is from Hexagon Heaven and is a really great stamp set with loads of brilliant sentiments and hexagons that you can create a lovely patch work theme. Through out the book I have used a mixture of paints, Inks and pastes to create colour and texture.

On these two pages I have used more sentiments on shrink plastic and parchment again these are from Star Shine and Hexagon Heaven

As you can see I have left some of the pages blank. That’s so I can keep adding to this little book as I get different ideas.  The two sentiments on these two pages are from the stamp set Watercolour Inspiration  The believe, Dream ,Inspire and Create is all one stamp I just choose to cut the words up to create a different effect.

These last few pages I have used the Hexagon Heaven stamp set with the hexagon stamps and stamped the words inside the hexagons.  The solid line and stitched line are two different stamps I just used my stamp platform for accuracy.

Last two pages I just love the Watercolour Inspirations stamp set as you get this cute little watercolour stamp that you can add colour to and it creates the perfect watercolour washed effect.  And when matched with the sentiments its lovely.  The last page I have used one of the cute little rabbits, water coloured and splashed with some gold ink.  This is from Hello Spring.  Hope you have liked my take on  a mixed media journal using Mama Makes wonderful stamps.  Click on any of the highlighted stamp names to be taken to the Mama Makes Website.

See you Soon
