A Christmas Hugs – Nicky Cresswell

A CHRISTMAS HUG
By Nicky Cresswell
For today’s project you will need the following:
COPOLOP CHRISTMAS HUG STAMP SET – ACRYLIC BLOCK – CARD BLANK
VELLUM – AN INK PAD – EMBOSSING TOOLS – PIECE OF FOAM
 COLOURING PENCILS – TINY BRADS
I started by stamping my chosen image onto the vellum.
Once dry I flipped over the vellum and started to emboss the image on the back, this is where a thin piece of foam comes in handy as you can put it underneath to get a better embossed look but don’t press too hard as the vellum can pierce or rip.

I lightly coloured around the images and then used a damp cloth to smudge the colour creating a hazy background. I also added a few more squares and stars at this point with my embossing tool and coloured to fill the background more as it was looking a little sparse. {I would recommend you do this before you start the colour and blend step as the green and white didn’t show as well over the blended bits but it was a mid process change so I could help it.. I make the mistakes so you don’t have to!!!}
Lastly I used my embossing tool to create a stitched effect around the edge of the vellum to finish the look as it looked unfinished somehow without it.
I attached the finished vellum to my card black with some tiny little brads. And there you have it.
I hope you like today’s offering, See you again soon for more inspirational makes!
