Makers Box 2021 – Bloom Tutorial with Lorre-Anne

A few weeks ago, the 2021 Makers Box was launched. This one is designed by Natalie Bowers and includes stamps, stickers, 3 washi tapes, super smooth cardstock, ephemera and a stencil in a beautiful magnetic snap shut presentation box! It has a fantastic botanical feel with journaling and memory keeping in mind. Maker Boxes are a one off purchase (not a subscription) and limited edition so snap it up while it’s available! You can find it here.

Cut a piece of white card to 5 1/2″ square and select some Distress Oxides (Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed).

Put the Oxides on to your mat and spritz with water, drag the white card through it and dry with a heat tool.  Repeat until you get the look you want.

My finished background.

Take the stencil from the kit and blend some Picked Raspberry through it randomly over the background.

My background after using the stencil.

Use Salty Ocean Distress Oxide to stamp the above stamp over the background, again randomly.

Use Twisted Citron Distress Oxide to randomly stamp circles over the background.

Take a strip of the beautiful washi tape from the kit and stick it across the centre of the background

Blend some Black Soot Distress Oxide around the edges of the card.

`Take one of the tags from the kit, and blend some Black Soot through the stencil, then blend some ink around the edges.  Add a couple of words from the sticker sheet.

Use Black Soot to stamp a few hearts randomly over the background and the tag.

Tie some twine around the background, and mat to a piece of black card slightly larger and then affix to the card blank (6″ square white).  Finish by matting the tag to some black card, tie some twine around the top and affix with foam pads
