Crafts and Cake at the NEC!

As you have all probably seen on Facebook and Instagram, I had an amazing time at Stitches learning about all the new product launches and all the latest crafty gossip! Stitches was closed to the public, however there are two amazing event coming up!

Cake International – The Sugarcraft, Cake Decorating & Baking show 18 – 20 March 2016

Sewing for Pleasure, Fashion & Embroidery and Hobbycrafts 17 – 20 March 2016

Cake International – The Sugarcraft, Cake Decorating & Baking show joins Sewing for Pleasure, Fashion & Embroidery and Hobbycrafts at the NEC, Birmingham for the last three days of this four day show taking place from 17 – 20 March 2016. From Friday to Sunday, you can make the most of four shows for the price of one and an extensive offering of supplies, workshops and demonstrations. Over 30,000 visitors are due to attend over the four days to enjoy over 400 top cake and craft exhibitors as well as a host of exciting competition pieces, features, experts and catwalk shows from which to take inspiration.

Cake International will have 40 cake decorating stands including regular exhibitors Queen of Hearts Couture Cakes, returning with their exquisite cupcakes, each meticulously decorated to create a garden of individual buttercream flowers. You can marvel at the colourful detail as well as make the most of their expert advice, tips and tricks! Exciting stuff!

Joining Queen of Hearts Couture Cakes are a host of features including the debut of The Cake Carnival presented by Sugar Show Productions. You can expect an explosion of fair inspired artistry realised in sugarcraft and cake. While superhero fans will be wowed by the Batman vs Superman exhibit featuring life-sized figures sculpted by cake decorating extraordinaire, Rose Masefield!

Mich Turner, queen of couture cakes and award-winning chocolatier Will Torrent will be taking to the Cake International Theatre stage once again to impart their awe-inspiring skill and trusted techniques. They will be joined by some of the greatest experts from the world of cake baking and decorating. I’m such a big fan of Mich, she is so talented!

If you have a passion for fashion or you love to stitch and sew.. you’ll be in haberdashery heaven in the aptly named Sewing for Pleasure show. Running alongside Sewing for Pleasure, Hobbycrafts is the perfect place for visitors to pick up supplies and ideas for papercraft, jewellery making, cake decorating and much more. The Fashion, Embroidery & Stitch show will be the place for those who live for creative clothing design, beautiful costumes and textile art. You can choose from a wealth of enticing materials, threads and embellishments to help them bring their own projects to life.
